How Much Does Mobile Paintless Dent Repair Cost?

Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) represents the most efficient and cost-effective method for repairing vehicle dents whilst preserving the original factory finish. This advanced technique has become increasingly prominent over the past decade, offering substantial savings compared to traditional bodyshop repairs.

PDR costs vary significantly based on the specific requirements of each repair. Small door dings typically start from £70, whilst larger or multiple dents may cost upwards of £400. However, PDR consistently remains more economical than conventional repair methods involving panel replacement or respraying, often saving vehicle owners hundreds of pounds whilst maintaining their vehicle’s value.

What affects the price of paintless dent repair?

Several key factors determine the final cost of PDR repairs:

Dent Size and Depth

Small dents up to 5cm in width typically cost between £70 and £200, whilst medium dents up to 10cm range from £200 to £300. Larger dents exceeding 10cm generally cost over £400, particularly when located in challenging positions.

Panel Location and Accessibility

Dents in easily accessible panels, such as doors or wings, typically fall within standard pricing brackets. However, repairs to panels with limited access may require additional time and specialist tools, increasing costs to £200-£450 for small to medium dents in complex locations.

Vehicle Make and Model

The construction materials and panel thickness vary between manufacturers and models. Premium vehicles often feature stronger metals or aluminium panels, which may require specific techniques and additional time to repair effectively.

Number of Dents

Multiple dents can often be repaired in a single session, potentially reducing the cost per dent. However, the total price will reflect the comprehensive scope of repairs needed.

Panel Condition

Pre-existing damage, previous repairs, or compromised paintwork may affect the feasibility and cost of PDR repairs. The original panel condition plays a crucial role in determining the most appropriate repair approach.

My car had been vandalised in the local supermarket carpark, resulting in two dents and some light scratches to the paintwork, on the drivers rear quarter panel.Having approached various local companies and one large franchise for dent repairs. I had various prices given to me.(The large franchise wanted £400 [bare this in mind])I was contacted by James who had seen my initial contact email and he asked me for various photos and video of the damage, unfortunately due to the colour and lighting it wasn’t easily to see. James suggested he could come to a place of my choosing and have a look at the damage, then let me know what the damage would be. (Pardon the pun)James came to my place of work and had a look told me the procedure he would use to fix the car and that it could be done paint free. (The franchise wanted to paint two panels)I arranged a date and time for thr repair, I had a choice of having the repair done at a place of my choosing or I could go to the workshop, near Tamworth.I opted to go to the workshop. The day came I dropped my car off and had a mooch around the garden centre and shops near by, at James’s suggestion I also had lunch in thr restaurant over the road – excellent by the way.I dropped my car off at 10:30 ish and the car was repaired around 12:30 ish, including two light scratches on the front bumper, which I surprised James with on the day.I collected the car, paid and had a chat about our past history involving cars and then I was on my way.I cannot tell where the repair was and I used to work in quality for a large motor manufacturer. All I can say is, I cannot recommend this company and James enough, excellent all round and value for money.(£144 compared to £400 is awesome in my book anyway of the week)

I contacted James after my son had an accident in France, damaged the rear left quarter of the car but it was still drivable. Sent James a picture and asked If it would be too big a job. James came back quickly with an estimate, a comment he would need to subcontract some welding but he would do the best they could. After we delivered the car James advised extra work for us to consider which we agreed. We were kept informed all along about progress and some interim photos. When we came to pick the car up we were amazed. It looked better than ever. The finish, panel alignment, cleanliness was fantastic and better than before the accident. I cannot recommend Dent Repairs, James and Del, highly enough. Their standards are as high as any repair service I have ever used. The price came in as expected plus the extras. These guys are a delight to deal with

Frequently Asked Questions

Paintless dent repair pricing is determined by several factors, including the size and depth of the dent, panel location, accessibility, and your vehicle's make and model. Small dents typically start from £70, while larger or more complex repairs can range upwards of £400.
Yes, the location of the dent significantly impacts the repair cost. Easily accessible areas like doors or wings are typically less expensive to repair, while dents in hard-to-reach panels or those requiring specialised tools and techniques may cost 50-100% more due to the additional time and expertise required.
While repairing multiple dents in one session can offer better value per dent, the total cost will reflect the number of repairs needed. Many technicians offer package pricing for multiple dents, which can provide cost savings compared to fixing them individually.
Addressing dents quickly can save you money in the long run. Small dents can grow larger over time due to metal memory and temperature changes, potentially doubling repair costs. Additionally, untreated dents can lead to paint cracking and rust formation, which could require more expensive conventional repairs.
Yes, certain weather conditions can impact both scheduling and pricing. Winter storms often cause increased demand for PDR services, which can affect availability and potentially prices. Additionally, extreme temperatures can make the metal more challenging to work with, sometimes requiring additional time and specialised techniques.
Many insurance policies cover PDR repairs, but it's worth considering whether making a claim is cost-effective. Small repairs often fall below policy excesses (typically £250-£500), and claims can affect your no-claims bonus.
Mobile PDR services typically charge 15-30% more than workshop-based repairs due to travel costs and mobile equipment requirements. However, you save time and transport costs, making mobile service more cost-effective when factoring in convenience and time off work. Many clients find the premium worthwhile for the door-to-door service.
